we went to dinner tonight, in CT, at a pretty nice restaurant. because there were so many of us they seated us in a separate little room. the walls were adorned with these framed pics, which was so funny because if you notice the bottom of the picture is perforated and the top of the picture has a whole in it... hmm... calendar pages anyone?? who was the slacker that forgot to trim the edges!?!?

this is my nephew, the cutest little boy in the whole world! ok, i know i am the biased aunt, but i can't help it :)

this is one of the greatest things about living in chicago, you would have no idea this picture was taken in a city. this beach is actually down the street from my home. i took this same photo in three settings, color, black & white and sepia. a fun little experiment!

Day 101

i took this today near fullerton beach. i love playing with the settings on my camera! the trees created the perfect frame of the bench. i have no idea what i am doing with photography, but i can try :)

this was the first weekend post-tax season! God blessed this day with beautiful weather, legs that kept up running, bikes that worked and just a wonderful time together :)

Day 100!!!!

wow! i can't believe it has been 100 days!! anyway, so tonight peter and i went to heartland cafe for dinner. it is this awesome, organic food restaurant in my neighborhood. they have a potted bathtub out front, that's peter in it :)

so after four years of no dishwasher, i have a tendency to cram everything in so i don't have to hand wash anything. peter died when he saw this. he was like, you are such a clean and neat person, what is this?? haha! the things you learn about people behind their own doors :)

this is the hilarious sign i see everyday when i come and go from my home. had to share, it makes me laugh almost everyday!

this is the courtesy car the dealer gave me while they work on my car. funny story, this is the second courtesy car... peter went to pick-up my car on saturday and drove off the lot and noticed, the alignment was still off and my old tires were still on my car. needless to say he drove less than a mile and gave them an earful, especially since i had already paid for all the work they supposedly did! i should have my car back tomorrow though, thank God :)

Day Ninety-four

meet olivier and colleen - one of the most wonderful married couples we know :) we had dinner with them and then saw their brand new condo. olivier has eyes only for colleen!

i went to lunch with a coworker today and saw two men painting this pepsi billboard. i really didn't think they painted billboards anymore, i thought they were all wraps/paper/cloth coverings but he is actually painting. pretty cool!

tonight was dinner with tracy and her sister, libbey. my first vietnamese food experience, as well as libbey's. it was sooo good and we each had one of those awesome smoothie/bubble tea drinks, yum!

Day Ninety-two

this is the foreman, peter's foreman... the one thing i really don't want him to bring into our home. i know, i am strange, but i just think they are sooo dirty! alas, i have not won this battle yet - outcome TBD.

supposedly it is april 11th, you couldn't tell from the view from my car window while i sat in traffic because of the snow!! argh! will spring ever arrive?

i hate to admit it but this is a common site in my house... i need a bigger trash can but hate the idea of it being out in the open and not hidden under the sink - but i guess its out in the open anyway, huh?

Day Eighty-nine

monday night ritual, packing the gym bag and laying out the clothes so i get to the gym by 6am tuesday morning. i HATE the gym, but i like being in shape... it helps when you pay someone to make you work out too!

if you haven't seen it yet, you must - planet earth! every sunday until earth day, the discovery channel is playing two episodes of this amazing documentary. we watch it every sunday :)

Tonight we celebrated easter with peter’s family. It was so much fun hanging out with all the sisters – he has 5! (his two brothers weren’t able to visit) as well as his parents, nieces and nephews and two aunts.

JD, lindsay and baby marissa were on there way to a suburb in illinois for easter and stopped to have lunch with peter and i. it was so much fun to catch-up and meet little marissa :)

tonight was phase one of cleaning my home. this is the clean kitchen - thank God! it is pretty embarassing to admit that it takes friends visiting for me to get my butt in gear and clean this place. a long time friend of mine, lindsay, known her since we were 12, will be coming through chicago with her husband and baby tomorrow so i thought i would clean for them :)
